Description
Baron Bliss Lighthouse in Fort George, Belize was constructed in 1885 and is named after Baron Bliss. Bliss was a sailor and fisherman who loved the Belize people and instructed that following his death, he should be buried in a tomb near the sea with a lighthouse nearby.
The lighthouse is used to help sea traffic navigate and has become one of Belize's most famous landmarks and tourist attractions. It's also prominently displayed on the label of Belikin's popular beer called "The Lighthouse Lager".
